Art & Soul Intensives
- Because limiting the full expression of yourself robs the world of your gifts and wisdom.
- Because bottling up painful feelings can lead to psychological and physical illness, social difficulties and addiction.
- Because our society struggles with the expression of ‘negative’ feelings such as anger and sadness, leading us to hide valid and important parts of ourselves.
- Because we are fearful of expressing emotional pain after being taught that it means we’re crazy or ‘playing the victim’.
- Because we are looking for a witness, a safe place to grieve and find meaning in all that has happened.
- Because avoiding the darker side of ourselves is not the same as being emotionally healthy and healed.
Have you been living inside the expectations and projections of others? Do you long to fully express yourself authentically instead? The problem is you’ve been quite successful at being who others want you to be and it has some benefits in that it feels safe and comfortable.
But you want more, because not living in the full expression of your true self is unfulfilling and stifling. The challenge is to step out of what feels ‘normal’ to do what is true for you, because it means that those around you might feel puzzled, even betrayed, and you will feel out of your depth and doubt yourself.
Instead of looking for answers outside yourself, Art & Soul Intensives provide a doorway within where you can find your own insights. You’ll use this deep mind-body wisdom to choose actions which allow healing to occur in your life.
Art & Soul Intensives involve a combination of art therapy and Soul Art®, a unique 5 step process created by Laura Hollick of Soul Art Studio. This approach uses ‘body mapping’ to take you out of your head and into the deeper realm of body and soul to access wisdom you didn’t know was there.
In 2011 I became Australia’s first certified Soul Art® guide. Read about the profound Soul Art® journey one of my clients has taken and the insights she received. In 2014 I also became a certified Initiatic Art Therapist.
“The point of art is not simply to express ourselves, but to create an external, concrete form in which the soul of our lives can be evoked and contained.” ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes
If you are on a journey to heal any aspect of your life that isn’t working, an Art & Soul Intensive will light the way. Instead of asking others to direct your path, you’ll be able to use your own inner compass to keep your path straight and true.

The process felt very safe and supportive. It was fun and well-structured, and I found it quite revealing and unexpected. It was a relief really to work through this issue and gain this new insight that I can now begin to act on. – Maria You have an insightful ability to see complex situations very clearly and help people clearly see the underpinnings of what’s going on and what needs to happen. You inspire me with your amazing approach to taking on new and adventurous challenges. – Jenna I found the journey enabled me to reconnect with who I am as a person and it helped me reflect upon where I was in life and where I wanted to go. I realised I had been so busy fulfilling my responsibilities as a wife, mother and worker, that I had forgotten me. I have now prioritised my life in a way that fits with who I am and not just of what others expect of me. This brings with it a sense of excitement and fun that had been absent from my life for many years . – Michelle Most beneficial for me would be the way that you held me accountable for what I said (or wrote). You helped me to explain myself better than I ever had previously. You also inspired me to think a little deeper free from self-talk that can cloud this process. I feel more confident, you have taught me that goals are achievable and given me the tools to make this possible. When I’m doubting myself, thinking negatively or making assumptions of failure, I still hear you saying “what evidence do you have for that?”! – Rosannah You seem to be able to really understand people very quickly and have this lovely ability to put them at ease with themselves. I found your approach non-threatening, in the sense that you normalised the experience, and prefaced there is no right or wrong. It was supportive and encouraging and feels very inclusive, it takes away the top down feeling you often get with the facilitator as “expert”. I put my artwork on my bedroom wall and it is still there. – Lori You have a sense of ‘knowing’ about you, and are intuitive and makes things fun. You are directive enough to manage time and process well but not so structured that it can’t just unfold. Your approach – curious, open, full of heart, humility and sharing. Passionate and strong minded. I now have more self knowledge, fun, more creative freedom and vitality. I’ve recommended the process to lots of clients now too so it helped me in my work with others. – Emma
